March 27, 2013 In the last year or so, there has been a lot of attention given to our farmers. The Dodge commercial during the Super Bowl is one that immediately comes to mind. I think in this day and age, farming needs more attention, especially when you think they are responsible by and large for the food on our tables.
March 27, 2013 I have always considered myself a good Air Force Brat as my dad served in the Air Force for over 20 years. While I only was at three bases, Castle Air Force Base in California; Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany; and Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, I got to see a lot of great planes. I love the B-2 Stealth Bomber, A-10 Thunderbolt; T-38 that are stationed at Whiteman. I have enjoyed going to air shows to see everything from the old biplanes to the Mustangs to the F-4 Phantom to the F-16s. However, I was a watching a movie Turbulent Skies and got to thinking that I never have seen an SR-71 fly in person.

March 21, 2013 The Mid-Missouri Outlaws are ready for week two of their season and are heading out on the road to take on the Bloomington Edge. Both teams lost in their first game. The Outlaws lost to the Lincoln Haymakers in overtime 38-31, while the Edge lost to last year’s APFL Champion Sioux City Bandits 62-56. Due to previous commitments for the arena in Bloomington, the game will be played on Friday, Mar. 22 at 7:05 p.m.
March 21, 2013 Spring may have started on Mar. 20, but it looks like winter still wants to shine. The National Weather Service has been predicting snow for the next couple of days. Some areas were expected to get up to five inches, others around one or two.
March 20, 2013 One of my favorite holidays of the year is Easter. It brings back a lot of great memories. Being an Air Force Brat, I can recall doing a few Easter Egg hunts with the youth center or a few squadron parties or even at the base church. I also have the great memories of waking up on Easter Morning and seeing the eggs hidden around the house or in the backyard if the weather was good.
March 16, 2013 The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 Lady Auxiliary hosted the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Sedalia on Saturday, Mar. 16. This year's theme was " Lucky 13 - Go For the Gold."
There were many kids and families who participated in the cake walk at the VFW Building before the parade, then took their bikes and rode along with about 40 parade entries down Ohio Street
