Join Us in Tracking Santa with NORAD This Christmas Eve

Each year Better Country KIX 105, 92.3 BOB FM and Newstalk 1050 KSIS love to track Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. I am pleased to tell you that he is in full Christmas toymaking mode.  The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has put into place the holiday countdown and has games and daily activities for kids and adults.

The end of the year brings the mad dash for my fellow employees to try and take some time off for the holidays, so I am off for three days this week. Nothing like taking time off to do last minute shopping for the holidays!  However, I also volunteered to help out the Skyline Elementary 3rd Grade for a day putting together gingerbread houses.

Sedalia Kids Send Letters to Santa for Christmas [PHOTOS]

Christmas is getting closer and closer, and the good boys and girls are writing up their final Christmas letters and wish lists to Santa Claus. I am pleased to tell you that a lot of the letters that were sent early have made it to the North Pole, and Santa knows more are on its way.  I'm also pleased to let you know that each year Newstalk 1050 KSIS, has had a chance to get updates from Steve The Elf on some of the letters have made it to Santa.

Tonight’s Carrie Underwood Show at Sprint Center Rescheduled

The Sprint Center in Kansas City announced today that due to illness, Carrie Underwood's show scheduled for tonight, Saturday, Dec. 15, at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. has been rescheduled to May 1, 2013. As a result of the Kansas City date change, Carrie’s show in Springfield, Ill. will be moved to May 6. Tickets for the original Kansas City date will be honored on the new date and all other show dates remain as scheduled.

Assistant Superintendent Brad Pollitt Addresses Rumors of Violence at Smith-Cotton High School [INTERVIEW]

Brad Pollitt, Assistant Superintendent of the Sedalia School District, addressed the recent rumors of kids possibly committing violent acts at Smith-Cotton High School in an interview this morning.  After a joint investigation with school officials, the student resource officer and the Pettis County Juvenile Office, no credible threats of violence were found.  The rumored acts were said to be surrounding what ancient Mayans claimed to be the end of the world.

Happy St. Nicholas Day!

The holiday season has many different holidays that are celebrated, whether it be Christmas on Dec. 25, Chanukah starting on Dec. 8, Kwanzaa starting on Dec. 26 or a few others that are celebrated around the world. However, one that I celebrated when I was living in Germany is celebrated today (Dec. 6). It is St. Nicholas Day.  This is not the day he was born as you may think, but is the day he died in AD 343, and thus is called the St. Nicholas Feast Day.
