Bruce
You never know what you will get when you tune in to the Bruce in the Morning Show. I will make fun of just about anybody and anything. If it's on your brain, then we can talk about it, so I always invite you to be a part of the show.
Some people call it a bucket list. Others use terms like goals or pipe dreams. I think everyone has something that they've always wanted to accomplish but haven't been able to... yet. Which brings us to today's complete the sentence:
As Behka pointed out, some of us had to work yesterday. I, however, managed to get to Eldon to play golf. On my way through Cole Camp, I noted the line of cars heading West on 52 to the lake. The line stretched from the four-way stop all the way to the clinic just on the outskirts of town. There was even a police officer at the four-way to direct traffic and try to keep things moving. He had his work cut out for him. All I could think was, "With that many people at the lake, there are going to be a lot of tired people tomorrow."
As we get ready to light the grills, have fun at the lake or hang out at the pool to celebrate Memorial Day, please take a moment to reflect on the reason for the day.
John Cameron is director James Cameron's younger brother and production company partner. He is also the owner of Safecig, the largest electronic cigarette company in the country. We'll be talking with John on the morning show on May 30 about "World No Tobacco Day," a smoking awareness day that falls on May 31.
This week in "Complete The Sentence," we had some interesting responses. One of the things most telling was the lack of response on shielding our kids from violence and sex on TV and movies. Whether or not that is something you feel strongly about, it didn't spark enough with you to voice your opinion.
Everyone looks forward to taking a vacation. The chance to get away from the routine of our daily lives and experience something new. The opportunity to decompress for a few days. Then it happens. A few days in, we get a little homesick. Maybe we'll wonder what our friends are up to or picture our pets in the kennel. Which leads me to the question:
We've all found ourselves in a position where the truth simply wouldn't do. Most of the time when we lie, it is a "white" lie. But a lie none the less. Which brings us to today's "Complete The Sentence" topic:
Take a moment and let it be just about you. This is your chance to be completely selfish. Forget the fact that there is too much month at the end of the money. Forget the fact that you spend so much effort and money getting what you need that there is little time for what you want. For just a minute all of that has been taken care of and you can have anything. Here's today's "Complete The Sentence."
Raising children and what to let them see and hear is a highly personal issue. Some don't filter what their kids see at all, while others won't let them watch certain movies and TV shows, listen to certain music, or play particular video games. I'm one for a happy medium.
It's graduation weekend at Smith Cotton and other schools in the area this weekend. It has been 13 years since grads were given the advice of wearing sunscreen in the song "Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen."
