Bruce
You never know what you will get when you tune in to the Bruce in the Morning Show. I will make fun of just about anybody and anything. If it's on your brain, then we can talk about it, so I always invite you to be a part of the show.
We started the week looking for the worst pickup lines you've ever heard/tried. We got some pretty good responses! "Can you help me find my puppy? I think he ran into this cheap hotel room," was my favorite.
It seems that every time I turn around, someone is describing an event and saying, "I really hate that." It seems to occur with the little and larger things in life. The check engine light on our cars coming on, the person in front of us texting instead of hitting the gas when the light turns green or even the seat being left up on the toilet. So with that in mind, let's air our pet peeves before the weekend. Complete the Sentence:
The Pettis County C.A.S.A. (Citizens Against Spousal Abuse) is holding their B.A.D. Ass. (Bikers Against Domestic Assault) Poker Run on Saturday June 9. The 2012 Pettis County Relay For Life is set to take place this Friday on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. In this event, teams are formed and they raise funds through pledges and other fund raising events leading up to the relay. On Saturday night starting at 6, walkers will take turns going around the track for 12 hours.
I'm not an art critic. As a matter of fact, the old saying "I don't know anything about art, but I know what I like" fits me very well. Yesterday (June 5) I had the opportunity to see an art exhibit at Liberty Center Association for the Arts. On display was artist Dustin M. Schmidt's "Blue Collection." Dustin is a local artist that works in acrylic paints. He's also very fond of the color blue. You can periodically see his pieces at the Daum Museum. He was kind enough to grant me permission to take a few photos of his work to show you here.
Being fashionable isn't something I'm known for. Quite the opposite I'm afraid. I DO read about people that know something on the subject. And guys, we are turning women off with our dress code. So this one is for the ladies. Today's "Complete the Sentence:"
Summer is here. Regardless of what the calendar says, summer activities have begun. Along with heading to the pool, lake and/or golf course comes more socializing. Of course, that means meeting new people. Some of which are in the relentless pursuit of a new relationship.
For around a year now, I've been producing and hosting the Red Dirt Music Hour, sponsored by Daisy Dukes & Cowboy Boots. The show airs each Saturday at 6 p.m. I keep getting the same question: what is "Red Dirt" music? The answer is pretty simple.
What's the first thing you did when you finally got the chance to borrow your parent's car? Change the radio station and play your music loud! At least that was the case for me. Although my parents listened primarily to talk radio, and at 16, that just isn't going to fly.
I recently read a survey which found 53% of people have done something illegal to save money. The most common infractions include switching labels, tricking the self-checkout scanners, and blatant stealing. Although this survey may be about semantics, isn't switching the labels and fooling the self checkout considered stealing anyway?
