What does Miranda Lambert do between shows? She visits Alaska to go fishing. A Taste of Country reader sent us these pictures of the ‘Fastest Girl in Town’ singer reeling ‘em in by the dozens when she was on a mini-vacation earlier this month, sans husband Blake Shelton. The break came during a trip to the Last Frontier for an August 2 show in Anchorage.
Taste of Country Nights host Jeremy Robinson and producer Todd found Cecilia to play the fun new game Sing the Rest. It didn’t really work out how the guys were planning, with the Texas teen acing the quiz. Listen below for all the fun from Tuesday night’s show.
Last night, the Eli Young Band and newcomer Chelsea Bain traded blows until the final minutes of the Showdown on Taste of Country Nights radio. Each artist rallied their fans to support their new song, but in the end, the new ballad from the Texas foursome notched just a few more votes than Bain’s ‘What if I.’
It’s been one year since the rigging above Sugarland’s stage toppled onto excited fans waiting for the band to begin their show at the Indiana State Fair. Seven were killed and dozens were injured in the tragic accident. Tonight (August 13), they’ll be remembered during a pause in the activities at the 2012 Indiana State Fair.
After seven days of voting, Brantley Gilbert‘s fans proved what the singer already knew: His supporters are the most passionate in all of country music. The BG Nation took over 35 percent of reader votes in a week-long readers poll, easily topping second and third place finishers Taylor Swift‘s Swifties and Scotty McCreery‘s McCreerians.
Country newcomers dominate the early new songs on the radio for August 2012. Among them are debut singles from Rachel Holder and Kelleigh Bannen. Alan Jackson and Taylor Swift are two superstars with hits in the making that were released to radio by mid-month. Swift has revealed ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ the first single from her upcoming ‘Red’ album.
More details are now available regarding Randy Travis‘ arrest in North Texas on Tuesday night. As previously reported, the singer was nabbed for suspicion of DWI, as well as retaliation and obstruction, after he allegedly crashed his car and “verbally threatened” a police officer. Reports are now surfacing that Travis was naked at the time of his arrest, which came just before midnight.
Randy Travis was arrested late Tuesday night (Aug. 7) on suspicion of DWI following a car accident in Texas. The country singer suffered minor cuts and bruises after crashing his car, according to TMZ. His vehicle was the only one involved in the accident. He is still in custody as of Wednesday morning.
Today’s Showdown is a battle between friends. Luke Bryan and Colt Ford will have to put their personal relationship aside to win the song battle that culminates each night on Taste of Country Nights radio. ‘Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye’ topped ‘One More Sad Song’ from Randy Rogers Band on Tuesday, making Bryan’s newest single a three-time champion.
On previous albums, Colt Ford backed himself into a tight corner, insisting he’s not rap while spitting rap-like messages of country life, love and fun. The singer admits that by aiming to please everyone, he left most feeling a few bites short of a full meal. This isn’t a problem on ‘Declaration of Independence.’
