Saw the coolest thing yesterday afternoon after spending time with my wife down at my dad's farm in Bates County.

As we were driving down a stretch of highway, an eagle dropped down in front of us (mind you, I'm going 55-60 mph) picked up something in front of us off the highway with its claws (small animal that was dead sitting on the middle of the road) and rose back into the sky in a moments notice. We were approximately 20 yards behind this beautiful bird when it swooped, picked up, and shot back into the sky. Couldn't believe my eyes at first, but when I saw the white tail feathers, the size of the bird, and what it did, I realized I had just witnessed nature and how magnificent it can be.

Where we traveling in west Central Missouri, eagles aren't that prevalent.  I'd seen an eagle one other time on a trip through that area once before, so to not only see this eagle this close but also witnessing this event was not less than incredible.
