The American Red Cross will have a blood drive with Better County KIX 105, 92.3 BOB-FM and Newstalk 1050 KSIS at the Inter-State Studio Auditorium at 3500 Snyder Ave. on Friday, Feb. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. More than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. A total of 30 million blood components are transfused each year in the U.S.

The blood type most often requested by hospitals is Type O. The blood used in an emergency is already on the shelves before the event occurs. Donating blood is a safe process. A sterile needle is used only once for each donor and then discarded. So donate today and help save lives.

Our boys will be headed out to Interstate this Friday to broadcast live from the blood drive.  I got to talk with Craig Jackson with the American Red Cross about the need for donations and how you can help.

To make an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and enter in the sponsor code KSISKSDLKXKX. Donors of all types are encouraged to roll up a sleeve and help save lives. The American Red Cross are planning several blood drives coming up in our area. Appointments to give blood can be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org.

Donatingly yours,

Behka
