According to a press release from the organization Music for Life, the program features children’s songs, traditional Spirituals, and Gospel favorites.

The African Children’s Choir has performed in front of presidents and political dignitaries. Most recently, the choir performed for Queen Elizabeth II, as part of her diamond jubilee.

Over the years, the choir has also performed alongside musicians such as Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Keith Urban, and Mariah Carey.

Tina Sapp, a chaperone for the choir, says that Music for Life works in seven African countries. The group has assisted with the education needs of more than 52,000 children.

The African Children’s Choir will perform on Wednesday, July 19 at His House of Bread church, in Knob Noster. The show begins at 6:30 p.m.

The church is located at 209 East McPherson St.

The choir will then perform a concert in Clinton, at the Life Change Camp on July 23.

After the Clinton concert, Sapp said that choir members will spend about a week at Life Change Camp to relax, before heading out again for the rest of the Midwest tour.

The concerts are free to attend. For more information about the African Children’s Choir concert, call 660-687-9116. Or visit, africanchildrenschoir.com.
