The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art on the State Fair Community College Sedalia campus will dedicate the Menefee Library in a naming ceremony at 2 p.m. on August 31st in the museum lobby.

The public is invited to attend this event.

Katherine Menefee donated $50,000 to the Daum Museum in memory of her late husband Tom, a Sedalia native and longtime museum supporter. The donation will be used to buy library materials such as reference books, monographs and journal subscriptions and support collections, exhibitions and education at the museum.

A plaque in Menefee’s honor will be unveiled at the ceremony. Katherine Menefee, SFCC President Dr. Joanna Anderson and Daum Museum Director Tom Piché will speak and refreshments will be served.

The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 2002. It features a diverse permanent collection and offers three exhibition cycles with up to 15 exhibitions each year.

Admission is free. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, please call (660) 530-5888 or visit www.daummuseum.org.
