Gregg Favre, a captain with the St. Louis Fire Department who received the University of Central Missouri’s 2014 Outstanding Recent Alumni Award, will be the guest speaker at the 2015 Patriot Day 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at UCM. The observance begins at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the quadrangle. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Hendricks Hall.  The public is invited to attend the annual ceremony, which is in remembrance of individuals who lost their lives in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil Sept. 11, 2001.

The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri kicked off a full season of cultural experiences for the campus and community with the opening of the online Central Tickets box office on Sept. 1.  The 2015-16 season celebrates the creative human spirit with the theme “Passion, Compassion,” offering performances of music, dance, theatre and the visual and multi-media arts. Season tickets, as well as tickets for individual performances, will be available for the three series of performances that make up the Performing Arts Series. The Premier Series showcases the best of the performing arts in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, while the Fanfare Series will feature the UCM Department of Music faculty and students.  Tickets may be purchased from the Central Tickets box office in Administration 100, online at ucmpas.com, or by calling 660-543-8888.
