For the third straight season the nationally ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball team will open the season at the Houston Winter Invitational at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. This year, the 22nd-ranked Mules are one of six division II teams taking part in the Houston Winter Invitational hosted by the Houston Astros and owner, UCM and MIAA Athletic Hall of Famer, Jim Crane.  The Mules will play four games in Houston beginning on Thursday, Feb. 5 and playing through Sunday, Feb. 8. 

The 22nd-ranked Mules had their three-game winning streak snapped with an 82-68 loss at Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon at Hyland Arena. With the loss, UCM falls to 16-4 overall and 7-4 in MIAA play.  The Mules are off until next Saturday when they travel to Joplin, Missouri to take on Missouri Southern 

The Jennies dropped a 92-85 decision in overtime against host Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon at Hyland Arena.  The loss was the first for the Jennies in St. Charles in five tries (4-1). UCM fell to 1-2 in overtime games this season. The Jennies will look to rebound at Missouri Southern next Saturday, January 31 for a 1:30 p.m. tipoff.
