Five teenagers were injured early Monday morning in a Johnson County vehicle accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident around 12:30 a.m.

A 2006 Toyota was northbound on County Road NW 1021, just south of County Road NW 150.

The Toyota traveled off the left side of the road. The driver then steered the vehicle back onto the road, but over-corrected and the Toyota traveled off the left side of the roadway again, causing the vehicle to strike a fence and overturn.

The driver, 18-year-old Brittany L. Mullins, of Blue Springs, suffered minor injuries in the accident. She refused medical treatment at the scene.

Four passengers in the vehicle were also injured. 18-year-old Marcus A. Partin and 19-year-old James D. Winstead, both of Grain Valley also suffered minor injuries but refused treatment. 17-year-old Michael J. Mapes, of Oak Grove, also refused treatment for minor injuries.

18-year-old Kansas N. Elliot, of Grain Valley, was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center, for the treatment of minor injuries.

According to the crash report, the Toyota was totaled in the accident.
