The KC Royals host the St. Louis Cardinals tonight for the first game of the 2016 I-70 Series.The Royals and the Cardinals will host two games each in this four game series. Both teams enter with identical 39-35 records and currently are second place in their respective divisions.

Going into the series the two teams are experiencing different issues. The Kansas City Royals’ starting pitching bombed this weekend while St. Louis removed their closer Trevor Rosenthal.

Adam Wainwright will take the mound for the Cardinals. He comes into the game with a 6-4 record with a 4.73 ERA. Starting for the Royals tonight will be Danny Duffy. He brings to the game a 2-1 record and his ERA is at 3.38.

Tomorrow night struggling right-hander Michael Wacha enters the contest with a 4.41 ERA and a 3-7 record. The Royals will counter with right-hander Yordano Ventura. he lands the starting spot in game two with a 6-4 record and a 4.54 ERA.

All-time the Cardinals are 50-36 versus the defending World Series Champions, holding a 31-18 mark at the K but are just 19-18 at Busch Stadium.

However this series plays out, it's always an exciting inter-league contest.
