The 2014 Walk To End Alzheimer's was held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds, Highway Gardens on Saturday, September 6, 2014. This year's goal was to raise over $34,000 and participants young and old took the challenge to walk around the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

According to the local committee, it appears they were ahead of last year's total funds of $30,400 and were hovering around $31,000 just before the walk. Several teams held fundraisers during the walk and donations are still be accepted.

A final total is not expected to be announced until the end of the month, but regardless the walk was successful. There were two teams, Sylvia G. Thompson and Fair View Nursing home both had over 100 walkers on their team and Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Home raised over $11,000 during fundraisers in the last year.

Congrats to all those who participated and it was fun to serve as the emcee.
