Run For The Wall 2013 Rolls Through Concordia [PHOTOS]

The 2013 Run For the Wall came through Missouri yesterday (May 20). About 500 bikers made a pit stop in Concordia. The mission of these riders is to promote healing among all veterans and their family and friends and to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing In Action. In addition, the motorcycle ride is to honor the memory of those Killed in Action from all wars and to show support of those currently serving.

The Run For the Wall (RFTW) began in 1989 and has grown in interest over the years. There were between 500-600 motorcyclists who stopped in Concordia as part of the Central Route. There is a Southern route too, but they both start in Rancho Cucamonga, California and wrap up in Washington D.C. at the Vietnam Wall.  The journey began this year on May 15 and will end on Sunday, May 26.

The RFTW features some special sponsors that take care of things along the way. The National VFW paid for the motorcyclists' gas in Concordia and lunch was provided by the Citizens of Concordia and CMA at the 13th Street Park.
