Jason Aldean is following in his good friend Luke Bryan's footsteps, announcing Thursday that he'll be hosting a country music awards show.

The '1994' hitmaker will share the duties with actress Kristen Bell at the 2013 CMT Music Awards on June 5 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Bell and Aldean both made the announcement via Twitter, posing in pictures with the other's T-shirt on. "Holla!!! @Jason_Aldean and I will be hosting the #CMTawards on Wed, June 5 @8/7c on @CMT! Get ready Jason its gonna be a blast!" Bell tweeted.

"Badass shirt @IMKristenBell Lookin forward to hosting #CMTAwards with ya. now to finish my Veronica Mars marathon…" Aldean returned.

Previously, Aldean had had reservations about hosting a high-profile gig, but watching his buddy Bryan do it surely gave him some confidence. Nominations for the 2013 CMT Music Awards are expected to be announced on May 6, with performers being announced shortly after.

Bell also hosted the show in 2012, but Toby Keith was her co-host. In 2011 Kid Rock hosted the broadcast, which unofficially kicks off the CMA Music Festival week in Nashville.
